Welcome to Blogging A to Z! My theme this year is Going Indie. I hope you enjoy it. Don't forget to check out the other participating blogs.
People talk a lot about "launching" a book…and I've had mixed results. My first novel, I had all the hoopla, including an awesome and well-attended in-person event at a local book store.

Other times, the book came out at an awkward moment and I could barely find time to acknowledge my own book release on social media, let alone do any events or promotion.
That's part of what I've been excited about in Going Indie: I chose my launch dates. The first book has been ready since December, but I've held it's release date until the other two were ready, since I've heard from several people that quick release is a good strategy for romance.
So, I've scheduled to release one a month for April, May, and June:

Good luck! I do think readers like to have the whole series available in short order, so that’s a great idea to wait until they’re ready
ReplyDeleteThese are all standalones, only connected by geographic area and similar age characters…but I still think I'll get a better chance at read-through this way. We'll find out!
DeleteThat's a good idea. I know I won't buy a book if I know that it ends on a cliffhanger and the resolution book isn't out yet. Great way to make sure you're in a good headspace to launch a book if you pick the date.
ReplyDeleteIKR? George RR Martin did us all in. I know I've had a LOT more interest in my Menopausal Superheroes series now that the series is complete.
DeleteWow, best of luck
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!

ReplyDeleteGood luck with your launching. Looking forward to April 28th.
ReplyDeleteThanks :-) I figure it's my birthday, right? So there will at least be cake.
DeleteOne book a month, did I hear this right? That's very ambitious. Wishing you great success!
ReplyDeleteYes. I finished writing them in 2025, though, and was through edits by February 2026, so it's not like I'm *writing* them that fast. That's just the release schedule.
