What do you look forward to as fall comes up?
_________________
First and foremost, I look forward to not being hot. I live in North Carolina, one of the southeastern states of the United States. Summer here is humid and hot--often over 100 degrees F. Add to that my own personal summer (I'm over 50), and you understand why I only go outside very early in the morning during summer. Spring can get nearly as hot, so I'm not a big fan of Spring either.
So, yes, once the weather dips below 70 or so and stays there? I'm happy as a clam. The ideal weather, so far as I'm concerned, requires a sweater, but not a coat and builds your appreciation for cute hats and hot drinks.
The trees celebrate by turning their leaves vibrant colors before they let go and rest for the winter and my eyes are wide with delight every day.
How about you? Are you a fall fan? What do you like (or not like) about it? I'd love to hear from you in the comments!
I enjoy all the seasons, though winter is too long here. Yes, I like the cooler weather in fall, too.
ReplyDeleteWinter can definitely get overlong.
DeleteThe winter is long, cold and miserable here. I'm a summer girl, and thankfully my own personal summer has passed!
ReplyDeleteI spent a decade or so in Alaska when I was younger, and winter does get loooooong in some parts of the world.
DeleteAutumn in Devon is so unpredictable. Whether it's flat calm and sunny or howling winds and lashing rain, somehow it's still glorious.
ReplyDeleteI love wilder weather myself. Stirs something in the soul.
DeleteI love fall and it's always sad to see it go. Winters do get LOOOONG here and they really hurt your face. But it always makes me appreciate the other seasons. Our summer this year was hot and smoky, but I tried hard not to complain because, living here, you know winter is coming.
ReplyDeleteHopefully not in that Ned Stark sort of way.
DeleteI've been in North Carolina during the summer. The humidity can be a killer!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly makes me wilt.
DeleteI feel you with the over 50. The humid has been brutal for me this summer. (We're not usually all that humid. The past few days...)
ReplyDeleteThere's that old saw "it's not the heat, it's the humidity" but the worst is when you have both!
